There are 187 quintillion litres of water in the pacific, how long would it take to empty the pacific with a 10 gallon bucket if it took 0.1 second to fill and then empty the bucket again?

Can I please have the answer in the most appropriate unit of time.

LancelotLink told me the Flying Spaghetti Monster uses the excess water to make beer in the beer volcanoes.  The FSM prefers to use imperial minims instead of gallons or liters.  smiley

If you emptied the bucket on to the land I think that it would immediately work it way back into th ocean. So the ocean would never empty.

4.9400197 x 10^18 Seconds

1 gallon = 3,78541 Liter

in 0.1 s   1 gallon

in 1 s       37,8541 Liter

187000000000000000000 L / 37.8541 L/s = 4.9400197 x 10^18 s

(187 x 10^18) / 378.5=4.94 x 10^17/3600 seconds/24 hours/365.25 days= 15,655,673,504 Years.

It would take longer than the currently known age of the Universe, which is about 13.8 billion years.
