Do you know how to do basic addition?
7 + 7 = 14.
7 + 7 + 7 = 21
7 + 7 + 7 + 7 = 28
Multiplication is simply a quick way of adding numbers together.
So 7 x 4 = 7 + 7 + 7 + 7
It is simply asking you to add 7 four times.
