Maybe it is a Puff the Magic Dragon kite. Hahaha

Maybe I buy one of them for my sister’s birthday present this year. Her birthday is on thanksgiving this year so I wanted to get her a turkey kite but I not find one yet. She is big enough now so she can usually get it up in the sky by her self.

I tell Marisol because her birthday is on thanksgiving this year she have to dress up like a turkey if she want any presents. She will be 8 and she not believe everything her big brother say to her anymore but she mostly believe me hahaha. We will see. She probably will because she like to dress up a lot anyway.

Last year was real funny. I got her a real tea set so she could have real tea partys with her animal friends and I was the first real person she invite to have tea. I write about it in my journal because it was so funny in what happen during the tea party.   I tell about that some time.

You know I take this story and other things I write about in my journal and rewrite them for a class assignment. Well a few days later my dad ask me what I did to get in trouble in school because one of my teachers wants a conference with both my parents. I think it was for shooting rubber bands at William in math class but I was not sure. Usually you just get detention for things like that but it was before the class started so I did not think the teacher even know I do it. Anyway my math teacher like me because I am one of his best students and that is because of this forum so I not think he would be so mad about it but he do not put up with BS from trouble makers.

Well it was my English teacher who want to see my parents and not because I was in trouble, but because she like my journal writings and wanted to make sure my parents knew how “gifted Lance is in narrative writing.” I hardly believe it because no way is English my best subject. I am in remedial English and write at a seventh grade level. So now my mom and dad call me John Boy Walton. I not know who that was until I look it up. I watch some of the Waltons shows and I like it but I not ever think I might be a writer like that.

You know I probably never write a journal if 7UP not tell me last year that is a good way to practice writing. A few weeks ago Eloise, who is a good writer and writes better than most adults I know gave me a real nice compliment for my writing. It was like what my teacher said about not noticing the spelling, punctuation and syntax errors when you get lost in Lance’s world.

I knew coming here to this forum would help me understand maths better than ever. And it did. I am almost two grades ahead in math and even though I am two years behind in English I guess that’s not too bad because I wrote at fifth grade when I take the assessment early this year before summer school.

This forum help in ways more than just math. Many of the ways it help me I write about in my journal.  I not put any of that in the assignment I turn in because my mom and dad not know I am on here even though I have been for almost two years.

So I write about this to say thank you to Melody, CPhill, and Alan for helping me to learn maths. And to 7UP for helping me to learn maths and how to think and learn, and to Rosala and Eloise for helping me learn to write better and for all of them being good friends. :)

We can use math to solve this, but let's use some logic, instead.

The kite is raised 8ft for every 1 meter of string.....so 64 - 56  = 8 more feet.......thus, 1 more meter of string is requied, i.e., 8 meters of string.....

cool cool cool

OK I think this is a joke CPhill. How can 8 meters (26.25 feet ) of string raise a kite 64 feet in the air?
