So, Point A is (8,3) 

 

and the scale factor is 2/3, making it a reduction, or a smaller triangle, because the scale factor is less than 1, so you know that the coordinate is going to be plotted on a shorter scale

 

8 times by 2/3=5 1/3

 

3 times by 2/3=2 

 

(never divide while dilating, otherwise the numbers become way bigger)

 

the coprdinate for A' is (5 1/3, 2)
