Why is math so particular? Why can't 0 be positive or negative

There must be a centre. In England, we focus a lot on math. You cannot have 0 be "taken to the Dark Side."

Zero doesn't represent a gain (positive), nor represent a loss (negative).

It's a starting point between the two (positive and negative). If you are here, you can go either way, but you aren't yet on your way.
