Yup any number raised to the power 0 = 1. Even the numbers e and pi. It's a math rule and I'm guessing at your level it's not super important.

The only number this doesn't work for is 0. 0^0 is not defined.

You can also look at it like this:

2^4=16
2^3=8
2^2=4
2^1=2
2^0=1

Everytime you divide the result by the base, you get the next highest result. 16/2=8 just like 2^4/2=2^3. 2/2=1.

Thanks to gollyjeeps on Yahoo for that, seen here: https://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081214102430AAkS8bV

LOL!!!!!....Well.....not that I would want to contradict you, Guest, but....it's pretty well "understood"

Let 5 be raised to any power, N

And we can write :

5N / 5N   = 1  = 5N-N   =  50  = 1

cool cool cool
