A baseball diamond is a square with sides of 80 feet. What is the shortest distance, to the nearest tenth of a foot, between first base and third base?

The diagonal of any square = S*sqrt(2)   where S is the side length of the square

 

So   80* sqrt(2) = about 113.14 ft

Sqrt(12,800)=113.137
