Micah spent half of his money and an additional $324 on a television.

Then he spent 1/6 of his remaining money and an additional $55 on a DVD

player. Then he spent 0.4 of his remaining money and an additional $18

on a music player. If he has $168 left, how much was the television?

Television cost = x/2 + 324 = $1086

M==Mike's money

M/2 + 324 ==paid for TV

M/12 + 1 ==paid for DVD player

(M - 672) / 6 ==paid for Music player

M - [ (M/2+324) + (M/12 +1) + (M-672) / 6] ==168

Solve for M:

(5 M - 2 M - 2556)/12 = 168

(3 M - 2556)/12 = 168

(3 M )==2016 + 2556 ==4572

M =4572 / 3 ==1,524

1,524 / 2 + 324 ==1,086 - what he paid for TV
