It s a Toshiba 2008 Home Edition computer that is Microsoft. It shows a WiFi thing below, and it turns orange when it was normal. After April 8, it started to have some defects. Now, because the WiFi doesn't work, I can't use the computer. Can someone PLEASE HELP ME OUT, PLEASE? Thanks.

And I don't know how to use CCleaner.

P.S(I can't use the computer. I am online just because I am on my dad's computer. Please help.)

You said the defects happened after April 8 (the day Windows XP's support ended)...could be something to do with that, however everything should have still ran fine after that day!!!

Now, it could be a mix of that and something else. (You should still scan using Malwarebytes as Phill stated before in your other computer post...visit: http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and you should see the "Free Version Download" link in orange [once you download and install it, update databases, and do a threat scan!]

If anything is found from the threat scan, you can go ahead and quarantine them [just make sure to check them all for false positives...however, MalwareBytes is very safe!!]. It'll ask for you to restart your computer to finish removing the threats maybe, so do that as well. Then Run CCleaner!

As for CCleaner, most of the options should be checked but you can un-check network passwords [that way you won't have to keep on entering your wifi password]...just click analyze to see what is found and then run the cleaner..."Analyze" is on the bottom left and "Run Cleaner" is on the bottom right..

THE CCLEANER OPTION IS ON THE TOP LEFT AND UNDER IT, IS THE REGISTRY CLEANER.

Then, you can use the registry cleaner, too!!! I have never had any problems with it and it is extremely safe!! When you "Scan for Issues" [on bottom left] you will see a list of errors in your registry. Then, once that's done, you can select "Fix Selected Issues"...Important: It'll ask if you want to back-up your registry, select yes and save the file somewhere on your hard drive!!! Then, it will ask to delete specific obselete/other type of keys...you can delete those and that's it!

LASTLY, TRY TO RESTORE YOUR COMPUTER TO AN EARLIER TIME: THIS PROCESS IS KNOWN AS SYSTEM RESTORE:

To do this, type 'system restore' in the start menu search and you it'll display a list of system restore points your computer made. Choose the most recent one and then apply it by selecting the date and it'll have some memo written such as 'Scheduled Checkpoint' or 'Installed some product' [it'll take a while as your system will restart automatically and apply the changes].

As for the black screen, do you have a monitor around the house? You can connect it to your computer with a VGA cable and see if the screen appears on the monitor when you turn on your computer.

Once that is done, you should be able to see the screen.

For your downloading problem, do you have a USB? You can download MalwareBytes and CCleaner on your dad's computer and put it on the usb and then connect that to your computer.

Once those two are done, you should be able to do all the things mentioned like scanning, using ccleaner and the registry cleaner, and system restore.

Then, you can unplug the VGA cable and see if your computer starts without it.

The monitor is just like the display for a desktop computer. It is like a TV except smaller and meant for desktop computers. A laptop has the monitor connected to it, a desktop computer needs a monitor since it only has the CPU unless you have those all-in-one PCs that have everything in the monitor!

Hmm, try clearing any static out by completely unplugging your computer and holding the power button for 1 minute. Then, plug everything back in, press the power button, and see if the screen appears.

Unplug everything again and try the following:

You can also try shaking your computer a little bit to see if any loose pieces of material or dust are blocking some integral component. Once that is done, use compressed air [comes in a can] and clean out the inside...mainly the fan area.

Just make sure everything is unplugged first.

Don't shake it but just spray in "quick bursts" like spray, then stop, then spray, then stop [use it slowly and don't let any of the foam material build up inside since it is extremely cold]. You need to take apart your computer to do this thoroughly though!

Yes, for the first step, you are not supposed to see anything on the screen because you are clearing out the static in the computer by pressing the power button [that is why everything is unplugged].

You just unplug all wires, then hold the power button for 1 minute, let go of the button, reconnect all the plugs, and then you press the power button once just like when you normally turn on the computer to see if the screen appears or not.

As for your internet issue, do you have an ethernet cable? It is thin and connects your computer to the modem [like if your company is ATT, they give you a modem to connect your ethernet cable]. You won't need wifi if you have an ethernet [comes in a variety of colors and sizes].

Hmm, time to clean some dust out...unplug everything [battery, adapter, anything else connected with wires], and start spraying near the fan at an angle and not directly into it with quick bursts.

The fan should be either on the left or right side [basically it looks like a cage with parallel bars]. When you turn your computer on, the area where you feel air is the fan.

You need Phillips screwdrivers to unscrew the area...but first, try spraying at an angle at the fan vents without opening anything. Just make sure everything is unplugged. Then, you can reconnect, start the computer and see if the screen appears. If not, then open the computer and clean the fan.

The fan prevents your computer from overheating [when it's filled with dust, the fan will not function as it should thereby overheating and possibly damaging other parts]...depends on many factors like air circulation, where you live [whether it is cold or warm or hot], where you sit and if you're laptop is on a hard surface or soft one.

To clean it you do, however, you can always take it to professionals and have them do it for you...it is safer but as long as you're careful and follow the steps in the links, then all should be fine...

Basically, don't touch and move things around unless specified.

Alright. My screen is blue with different option. Just study the old fashioned way!! Need to make a dusk to refresh tomorrow. I will vomplain to my comoany. Hdd was at 100%. When i turned of wifi in task manager it went to 0. Which i felt would be what it was given past experience. After a reboot it was on and on turning it off was only a temporary fix to the hdd clog. I uninstalled kapersky as forums say win 8 is a piece of c**p at handling more than one antivirus which it all started perhaps around last week when i installed kaperaky (not the lag). Then it lost it's stregth to survive. Hdd was making hard noises from time to time.

Yes. You are correct, Stu! Give yourself a pont!

You too, AzizHusain!

One day, when I was posting a question, a blue screen said:

Please don't shut down.

Etc.

Then, it automatically shut down!

And it turned on a few hours later.

Recently, I was on my computer and it did the same thing. Weird right?

Can someone explain to me what this means, please???

Yes, Phill, it is best to invest in newer computers! DS should do the same since the screen problem sounds like a major one if there is no monitor to check the connection. Technology is evolving so fast we have to keep buying every few years to catch up to everyone else...

The red ring of death is when your xbox 360 overheats and when it is about to explode, it shuts down.

It is dangerous!
