I think it's called inequalities on English? Anyway; 2 + 3x - 6( 1 - x/2) > 0 In the answer it says that 6 ( 1 - x/2 ) turn into 3x, which is the part i don't understand. Help?
The 6 multiplies both terms within the brackets. 6(1 - x/2) → 6*1 - 6*x/2 → 6 - 3x
So 2 + 3x - (6 - 3x) → 2 + 3x - 6 + 3x → -4 + 6x
If this is greater than 0 then: -4 + 6x > 0 → 6x > 4 → x > 4/6 or x > 2/3
