A class of 6 boys and 12 girls are preparing for finals. The teacher is going to select 3 students to be exempt from the test. What is the probability that the three students that are exempt will be all boys?

Hello guest!

There are a total of 18 students. Of the 18 students, there are \(\binom{18}{3}=816\) ways to choose three students.

Of the 6 boys, there are \(\binom{6}{3}=20\) ways to choose the boys.

Therefore, the total probability is 20/816 = 5/204

I hope this helped,

Gavin.
