How does the structure of this passage help develop the author's ideas?

A It gives a chronological view of how events build upon one another with some facts interwoven.

B It maintains reader interest at a high level as the passage progresses.

C It provides a sense of how important each subtopic is, relative to the other subtopics.

D It presents a set of related concepts and explains how they are connected to each other.

I believe you are correct the answer seems to be A.

That is because the passages are in chronological order and has extra facts thrown in to add information. Each passage builds towards the other. For example, in the passage, "The Beginnings of Agriculture", it talks about how agriculture began and how the people of that time helped work to change their ways to learn to have agriculture. Then in the passage under it talks about agriculture and how it changed the people of that time. How it affected them and what they were doing after they learned.

So I believe the answer is A) It gives a chronological view of how events build upon one another with some facts interwoven.

Hope this helps ;P

That makes sense ! That is what I was thinking . However , answer D through me off as it is similar in a way that could be pausible. May I ask , why it isn’t D ? Just so I can’t understand I bit more .

To add, isn’t it all fact based ? Wouldn’t they not include “some facts” since it is all fact basically ?

It isnt D because, the passages arent focused on how they are connected. It focuses on the information provided, and the facts. It mostly is about the history. If it was connected it would have information from the other paragraphs like lets say, the paragraph, "Keeping Track of the Years" Would have a lot more information from the passage, "The Beginnings of Agriculture". But it adds on more information and facts like it in chronological order.

Then to answer your questions about facts. They include some facts then the rest is just history based. Like they are telling the story of the agricultural revolution and they add in facts like the time and numbers. So it adds some facts but its mostly history. Although history is facts. But when they mean "some facts interwoven" they mean the geography, time, and other factors.

The passages build up on each other. They add more info.
