A 6-inch-by-10-inch rectangle is cut down to a 5-inch-by-9-inch rectangle. What is the percent of decrease in the area? Express your answer as a mixed number percent.

The area of the original figure is 6*10 = 60. The area of the new figure is 5*9 = 45. Let x be the percentage decrease. Then, we know that 60x = 45. Therefore, x = 0.75 = 3/4
