How many distinct license plates can be formed if each license plate consists of 3 letters followed by 3 numbers? Using the same license plate format from the previous question, how many distinct license plates can be formed if NO letter or number can repeat?

If repeats are allowed then we have:

26^3 x 10^3 =17,576,000 plates.Note: Some letter combinations may not be allowed such as "swear" words.

If repeats are not allowed, then we have:

26 x 25 x 24 x 10 x 9 x 8 =11,232,000 plates. Note: Same as above.
