14/3x^2=-1/4

is

$$\\\frac{14x^2}{3}=\frac{-1}{4}\\\\
$multiply both sides by 12$\\\\
4*14x^2=3*-1\\\\
56x^2=-3\\\\
x^2=\frac{-3}{56}\\\\
x^2=\frac{3}{56}\times (-1)\\\\
x=\pm \sqrt\frac{3}{56}}}\;\:i\\\\$$

14/3x^2=-1/4 ....multiply both sides by  4

56/3x^2 = -1  ....multiply both sides by -3x^2

-56 = 3x^2     ....divide both sides by 3

-56/3 = x^2    .....tke the square root of both sides

±√(-56/3) = x = ±i √(56/3) = ±2i √(14/3) = ±(2/3)i √(42)
