Let 7x^2 + 5x = h. What value of h will give us exactly one solution for x?

For the general quadratic ax^2 + bx + c = 0 there is just one solution when b^2 - 4ac = 0, so here:

 

5^2 - 4*7*(-h) = 0   or h = -25/28 as given by Guest #1
