In one math problem, I am asked to round 12.43912 to the nearest tenth of a year. Would my final answer be 12.4 or 12.44???

Look one place to the right of the tenths digit.......if this number is 5 or greater, round the tenths digit up...if not, keep it the same
Since this number is 3.......we just keep the tenths digit the same......and the answer is 12.4
12.44 would be correct if we were asked to round to the nearest hundreth [ the digit to the right of the 3 in the hundreths place is 9 ..... and that's greater than 5 ]
