Determine the frequency of light with a wavelength of 1.507 × 10−7 cm. Answer in units of Hz.

 

This is what I think.

 

speed of light = c = 3*10^10 cm/sec

 

your wave is    1.507*10^-7 cm / wavelength

 

Frequency  is    wavelengths /sec     (called Hertz)

 

so

 

\(\frac{3*10^{10}\;cm}{sec}\times \frac{wavelengths}{1.507*10^{-7}\;cm}\\ =\frac{3*10^{10}}{sec}\times \frac{wavelengths}{1.507*10^{-7}}\\ =\frac{3*10^{10}}{1.507*10^{-7}}\times \frac{wavelengths}{sec}\\ =\frac{3*10^{17}}{1.507}\times \frac{wavelengths}{sec}\\ =1.99*10^{17} \;wavelengths/sec\\ =1.99*10^{17} \;Hertz\)
