The arc length of a circle is L= O/360 2(pie)r. / is fraction. Where O is the angle at the centre and r is the radius of the circle. Use this formula to calculate the arc length of a circle when o = 30 and r = 7.4 x 10^8 (power of 8). Answer in scientific notation correct to one significant figure.

arclength = (30/360)*2*pi*7.4*10^8  →  3.9*10^8  This is correct to one decimal place.

 

 It is 4*10^8 to one significant figure.
