I thought that in order to simplify, you had to divide the coefficients and exponents... I'm confused. Thanks anyway!

Assuming that we have :

 

[4a^6b^10]/[24a^2b^5] =

 

[4/24] * [a^6 / a^2] * [ b^10 / b^5]  =

 

[a^4 b^5] / 6
