slope 5/7; y-intercept (0,4)

I assume you want to write the equation of this line and graph it

 

So we have

 

y - 4 = (5/7)(x   - 0)

 

y  - 4 = (5/7)x

 

y = (5/7)x + 4

 

 

To graph it.......plot the point (0,4)....since the slope is 5/7....this means that y changes by 5 everytime x changes by 7...so...

 

From the point (0,4)  go   7 to the right on  x and 5  up  on y....this should give you a  second point (0 + 7, 4 + 5)   = (7,9)

 

Plot this point and draw a  line through (0,4)  and (7,9).....voila!!!.......there's your graph....!!!!!!
