Area of larger circle = 16pi

Area of small circle = 4pi

Shaded area / Total area =  4pi / 16pi  =  1/4 = 25%

The formula for the area of a circle is π·r2.

Find the ratio of the area of the small circle to the area of the large circle:

        π·22 / π·42  =  4π / 16π  =  4/16  =  1/4  =  25%
