I will take a crack at it. Somebody should verify it though.
1- 12 / 36 = [6x -4] / 24 cross multiply
288 = 36[6x - 4]
288 =216x - 144 add 144 to both sides
432 =216x divide both sides by 216
x = 2
2-[10x + 5] + 55 = 180 subtract 55 from both sides
10x + 5 = 125 subtract 5 to both sides
10x=120 divide both sides by 10
x = 12 degrees.
