$$\sqrt{x-5}+5=0$$

Subtract 5 from both sides

$$\sqrt{x-5}=-5$$

Square both sides

$$x-5=(-5)^2$$

or

$$x-5=25$$

Add 5 to both sides

$$x=30$$
