OK. I think now I know what you did wrong!!!. Your calculator is in "Radians" mode instead of "Degrees" mode? Ckeck it out and re-do it again.

what i did was i had to Get cos 40 first, then multiply the result by 13. 

Did i not do it correctlyy??
