the formula is \(v^2 = vi^2 + 2gd \)

 

where vi is the initial velocity and its zero because its start from rest

This is the formula.

 

\(v=\sqrt{2gd}\)

 

Earth's gravity is g (9.8m/s. Distance in meters is d. v is the speed in meters per second when it hit the ground.
