plz help with systems

For certain values of k and m, the system

3a + 2b = 2

6a + 2b = k + 3a + mb

has infinitely many solutions (a,b).  What are k and m?

In order for the system to have infinitely many solutions, k and m must both be equal to zero.

To get k = 2 and m = 0, you would need to modify the system to be:

3a + 2b = 2

6a + 2b = 2 + 3a + 0b

This system will have infinitely many solutions (a,b), with k = 2 and m = 0.
