This was on my math test and the question said that (a+b) squared does not equal b squared + a square and I have no clue what the answer is supposed to be...
(a + b)2
= (a + b)(a + b)
= a·(a + b) + b·(a + b)
= a·a + a·b + b·a + b·b
= a2 + a·b + a·b + b2
= a2 + ab + ab + b2
= a2 + 2ab + b2
