I think the first one might be

 

(f/g)(x) =        4x^2 + 19x  - 5           (4x - 1) (x + 5)              x  +  5

                      ____________   =   _____________  =    ____________

                        4x^2  - x                    x ( 4x - 1)                         x

 

With the restrictions that x  not equal to  0  or  1/4

 

 

Second one

 

(f + g) (x)  =  [ 2x^2 + 3x ] + [5x^2  -2x  - 6 ]  =   7x^2 + x - 6
