What is (fg)(x)?

• x+5x where x≠0, 1/4

• −x19x−5 where  x≠0, 5/19

• xx+5   where x≠0, 5

• −19x+5x where x≠0, 1/4

2.

I think the first one might be

(f/g)(x) =        4x^2 + 19x  - 5           (4x - 1) (x + 5)              x  +  5

____________   =   _____________  =    ____________

4x^2  - x                    x ( 4x - 1)                         x

With the restrictions that x  not equal to  0  or  1/4

Second one

(f + g) (x)  =  [ 2x^2 + 3x ] + [5x^2  -2x  - 6 ]  =   7x^2 + x - 6   Mar 23, 2018
