What if you have 4n=3m+1 what does it equal

4n=3m+1

 

This must mean that:

n=1

and

m=1

 

This is due to the two graphs of 4n and 3m+1 being equal at (1,1) if (m,n) now, because n,m are different, for all intents and purposes being synonymous with x,y, then certainly they can be equal at other points on a plane, but this is the first time that they are equal. If you were to try to find a series to explain the relationship between the two you'd say:

 

For all cases were 4n=3m+1,

m=(4n-1)/3

and

n=(3m+1)/4

 

You're probably only working with whole numbers, so it would be best to only focus on cases where whole number intersections occur. Take for example if:

n=7

Then

m=9
