Dbg you hae found the mean.
Median = middle
82 , 83 , 85 , 85
The median is in between 85 and 83
If we have two numbers in median we add them together then divide by two too find the centre.
$${\mathtt{83}}{\mathtt{\,\small\textbf+\,}}{\mathtt{85}} = {\mathtt{168}}$$
$${\frac{{\mathtt{168}}}{{\mathtt{2}}}} = {\mathtt{84}}$$
84 is your median.
$${\mathtt{82}}{\mathtt{\,\small\textbf+\,}}{\mathtt{83}}{\mathtt{\,\small\textbf+\,}}{\mathtt{85}}{\mathtt{\,\small\textbf+\,}}{\mathtt{85}} = {\mathtt{335}}$$
$${\frac{{\mathtt{335}}}{{\mathtt{4}}}} = {\mathtt{83.75}}$$
.Dbg you hae found the mean.

No Dbg, you have found the mean(average) not the median.
The median is the MIDDLE score, or the average of the 2 middle scores if there in not just a single one.
Before you 'pull out' the middle score, you have to put them in order from smallest to largest.
That was already done for this set of scores :)
