f(x)=3x-1/4

y=3x-1/4

the inverse is

x=3y-1/4

mult both sides by 4 to get rid of the fraction

4x=12y-1

4x+1=12y

y=(4x+1)/12

So the inverse function is

f(x)=(4x+1)/12

No anonymous.

The inverse of a function means what would it be if it was reflected about the line y=x.

You get this answer by swapping the x and y values around.
