When the angle of elevation of the sun is 50°, a flagpole casts a shadow that is 16.8 feet long. What is the height of the flagpole to the nearest foot?

 Let x = height of flag pole 

tan = (side opposite)/(side adjacent) 

tan 50° = x/16.8 

x = tan 50° * 16.8 

x = 20.02 feet
