I often wonder why some things are said a certain way. I think we say get in a car because it surrounds us. Even though a bus surrounds us it is big so maybe we don’t feel as enclosed. A plane is the same. If it is a small plane we get in it and if it is a big plane we get on it.

Some languages have masculine and feminine nouns. Why is a book, a table, a computer, a female or male thing and how do we know unless someone just tell us? English not have very many and they only seem to apply to people. Like waiter –waitress, and actor—actress, then sometimes the whole word changes like seamstress--tailor. Nurse is female but if it is a man then male nurse is used.

Then some people not like to say a class has boys and girls they just call all the children purple penguins or something stupid like that. I not understand that at all.
