Why is x^0=1? x^2=x*x. x^1=x. x^0=_. _ = 0, of course, so why is x^0=1?
This is true for any value of x except when it is 0 .... to see why, consider :
xn / xn = 1
But
xn / xn = xn-n = x0
Then, since these two things are equal, then x0 = 1
