A crate of eggs is located in the middle of the flatbed of a pickup truck as the truck negotiates an unbanked curve in the road. The curve may be regarded as an arc of a circle of radius 38.5m. If the coefficient of static friction between crate and truck is 0.535, how fast can the truck be moving without the crate sliding?

The centrifugal force pushing th box outward is given by m*v2/r where m is the mass of the box, v is the lorry speed and r is the radius of curvature.  This force is balanced by μ*m*g, where μ is the coefficient of static friction and g is the gravitational acceleration.

mv2/r = μmg

v2/r = μg

v2 = μgr

v = √(μgr)

You can plug in the numbers.
