Examples and explanation
0.25 x 0.3 = 0.075. Multiply the two whole numbers together to get 25 x3 = 75. Now where to put the decimal point? The rule for where to put the decimal point is --- the total number of digits after the decimal point is the same on both sides of the multiplication. There is a total of 3 digits ,or numbers, after the decimal points on the left hand side that is two from 0.25 and one from 0.3. So there must be 3 digits after the decimal point on the right hand side,to get 0.075.
Another one
0.04 x 0.3 4 x 3 = 12. There are 3 digits altogether after the decimal point on the left hand side,so there have to 3 on the right. So we get 0.04 x 0.3 = 0.012.
Same rule every time, here's another two examples.
1.3 x 0.3 = 0.39
2.7 x 0.02 = 0.054
