Thsi question has already been answered similarly:

https://web2.0calc.com/questions/an-artist-is-designing-a-kite-like-the-one-show-below

You could use the same formula that was shown, just with your numbers instead.

Hope this helps ;P

Right because they are different nuumebers. Just substitute the numbers here with that formula.

If you have no option it seems you will have to round the number...

But then you asked the same question, and you got a different response:

If you were to substitute your answers with the ones in the formula, it would look like:

\((1/2) (9.5)(12+7)\)

\((1/2)(9.5)(19) = 90.25 \)

So it would be 90.25 square inches

Another method used was the 1/2*b*h:

\(1/2*7*9.5= 33.25\)

\(1/2*12*9.5 = 57\)

Then add the two:

\(57+33.25= 90.25\)

You get the same answer of 90.25 square inches

Edit: This method here is correct, you just need to double the answer

The expression (1/2)*b*h refers to a single triangle.

The kite can be considered as two large triangles of base 19in and height 9.5in; or four triangles, two of base 12in and height 9.5in, and two of base 7in and height 9.5in.

Hence you should double your result of 90.25 in2.

I see which would still get you the same result of 180.5

The area for a right angle triangle is B*H divided by two. But since there's two of the same triangle, if they were put together they'd make a rectangle.

The only method that I found that has the answer as one of the choices is:

\(7*9.5=66.5\)

\(12*9.5=114\)

\(114+66.5=180.5\)

180.5 Square inches

Hope this helps ;P
