This is called "Euler-Riemann zeta function". Its importance in physics is mainly in the "String Theory", but its treatment is highly advanced mathematics.

You could try reading the textbook String Theory, by Joseph Polchinski of the University of California, Santa Barbara, where the equation appears.  Good luck with that!
