I feel like CPhill and the people on the leaderboard except EP are like not active at all, also I see some users are not on the leaderboard, even though they have a lot of likes, is it because they are not active, or quit this forum...????

You're on the right track! What you have to subtract is the number of paths from (0,0) to (5,7) that pass through (4,3). To calculate this, all you have to do it multiply the number of paths from (0,0) to (4,3) by the number of paths from (4,3) to (5,7).

I think the answer is \(\boxed{256}\) because there are 4 choices for each ball, and each choice is completely independent. So, \(4^4=\boxed{256}\).

I'm not sure if this is right...
