When you write your question make sure that all of your question is in the body of your post.
I saw your question ealier but I did not realize that half the information was in the title so it did not make any sense to me.

It is good that your title had meaning.
Telling us in the title that it is about rectangles and that you are in 6th grade is really helpful information.
It just needs to be in the body of the question as well.

For example

1) If y=x+8 and x=5
can you tell me what y will be?

if you can do this one easily, perhaps you could tell us one that you don't quite understand.

((1-x-sqrt(x))/sqrt3(x) = [ (1-x-sqrt(x))/sqrt3 ] * x

Is this even what you meant?

Divide the area of the rectangle by the length of the rectangle and this will give you the width.

Do you mean for example x ²-11x+24 = 0 and x ²-5x + 4 = 0?
Or you could also mean x ²-11x+24 = x ²-5x + 4...

753 = 50* (8-5) *5 + 1 + 2 or 50*(1+2)*5 + 8 - 5

I will give you my reasoning including the part where I went wrong so it gives an idea on how I approach the puzzle.

Primarly i tried dividing 753 by any of the numbers, which was not possible.

This gave me the hint the final step should be an add or substract operation.

especially when 5 , 25 and 50 are in play, I usually try to get to a multiple of 5 so I tried substracting 8.

This gave me 745 which can be divided only by 5. Then I got 149.

By making some computations I easily realised that I wasn't able to work with 149.

I then started over and this times decided to substract 3 (which is 1+2) to get 750.

I noticed 750 = 50* 5 * 3, and then realised (8-5) would also give me 3.

That's how i came to my answer.

I'm assuming that you're asked to use substitution on for example two equations,

eg.

1) 2x+2y = 4
2) 5x+y = 6

Now, if we want to substitute then 'pretend' y is already a number and we want to know x in equation number 1).
Then we have 2x + 2y = 4 => 2x = 4-2y => x = 2-y

Now in equation 2), we 'substitute' x with 2-y for every x in equation 2) (because we just saw x = 2-y)

Then we have 5x+y = 6 => 5*(2-y) + y = 6 => 10-5y + y = 6 => 10-4y = 6 => -4y = -4 => y = 1.

Now that we know y = 1, we can calculate x be filling y in in either of the equations.

for equation 1) ; 2x+2y = 4 => 2x + 2*1 = 4 => 2x + 2 = 4 => 2x = 2 => x = 1

and to check i'll show the same thing for equation 2);

5x + y = 6 => 5x + 1 = 6 => 5x = 5 => x = 1

As you can see the answer is y = 1, and x = 1.

Simple said, we solve the first equation for one of the variables and then 'fill in' or 'substitute' that variable in equation 2.
