Hi GA, have you considered getting a life instead of obsessing over forum trolls?
Humm... do you have any suggestions on what kind of life I should get?
I kinda like the one I have, even if I have obsessions ...like the Martians trying to read my mind.
Though WAT has long been on my radar and in the crosshairs of my observations, my comments about him have been few and brief over the years. It wasn’t until I engaged in brief dialogue with some of his various personalities that I popped up on his radar, identifying me as serious threat to his trolling powers. Notably the greatest threats to him are the contradictions I post to his realistically-presented, absurdly wrong answers.
He retaliates by creating wrong answers and signing my initials to them. He also signs my initials to posts he creates to support the wrong answers, and to posts that aggressively attack or chide question askers as cheaters and to posts supporting such attacks.
Contradicting WAT and pointing out that his behavior is (incredibly) unethical and destructive, pisses-him-off. He cannot bear the contradiction, so he creates posts that support his position and signs my initials to them –changing, in his mind(s), my dissent to one of agreement. ...And, as a bonus, irritating the *hell out me.
WAT’s behavior in forging my initials was not a surprise, I long ago made provision for it.
Any post I’ve made on here, I can easily prove is mine. But conveniently proving a post is not mine is very difficult.

I genuinely care about this forum ...maybe to the point of obsession: Until recently, I invested time in analyzing post view counts, visitors to the forum, the visit-times and length times. But the view counter stopped working months ago. It’s not a malfunction. Also, the number of visitors and time intervals are very inconsistent with the activity on the form, suggesting alteration, so I do not analyze anymore. Even so, I spend a fair amount of time perusing or at least scanning the questions and answers. Looking to learn new techniques for solving math problems, or for question posts, I can answer ...or troll.
As for the forum’s trolls, I really cannot see that I am obsessed by them beyond what potential damage they may do to the learning and education of the students who visit.
I am interested, yes. Obsessed? No. If I am, the obsession will be brief... but the interest will remain for years.

Generally, “obsessions” are usually depicted and described in negative connotation; that is as undesirable attributes, mannerism, and behaviors that are repetitive and predictable in certain human and nonhuman animals.
There are also magnificent obsessions. These obsessions are usually considered wonderful by most persons –at least in retrospect, but probably not by many of those who were witness to the (sometimes) decades of obsessive behavior. The reason for the “magnificence” is these obsessions resulted in a great benefit for humankind. Here are examples of “magnificent obsessions”:
Dr. Paul Ehrlich*: His obsession was for finding or creating a “Magic Bullet,” an agent of selectivity that would destroy an infectious organism without harming the host. He did. Paul Ehrlich spent more than thirty-five years of his life conducting experiment, after experiment, after experiment –stopping only long enough to periodically raise funds to pay for the lab assistants, equipment, and chemicals he needed to pursue and obtain his goal. [Go Fund Me didn’t exist then; you know.]
Ehrlich and his obsession saved millions of lives. His discovery and creation brought hope and health to those suffering, alone, in isolation, and socially ostracized –living a bleak existence in the shadow of an agonizing disease that consumes the soft tissues –including brain tissues, and the bones of those infected. [Though commonly observed during the centuries prior to the early 20th century, firsthand observations for the final stages of this disease are rare in modern times. Penicillin and related antibiotics cure this disease, without the deleterious side effects of arsenic-based compounds. Organoarsenic-based compounds are still used for antibiotic-resistant strains of syphilis –and there are now plenty of them.]
The first to benefit: young children infected at birth, now in a hospital children’s ward for those in the final stages of the disease that, for them, progressed very rapidly. The children were there for palliative care. Their parents expect to bury them in a few days. Half the children were administered the drug (Salvarsan), the other half were administered a placebo. Within thirty-six hours the majority of the children receiving the drug started recovering. Some children still died because of secondary infections, and from the toxic side-effects of the drug itself because of their weakened state. Within days, those recovering were eating, playing, and wanting to go home with their family. After the obvious success of the treatment, the children administered the placebo were treated with Salvarsan, and many of them recovered too.
[I have wondered, how many of the parents of these children, who all signed releases to allow for the administration of the drug, seriously pondered if a deity came in and cured their children. Those knowing that it was a human physician and biologist with an obsession, may have thought the obsession was a gift, and not a curse, from the god(s).]
Dr. Ehrlich’s Magic Bullet had to be shot into the patient precisely and carefully, or along with killing the bacteria it would kill the patient or seriously damage their organs. Many physicians administering Salvarsan were not careful in calculating dilution and quantity ratios, and infusion rates that were based on the patient’s weight and general health. As a result many patients died; some within hours of the infusion.
These quack physicians –one in particular, accused Dr. Ehrlich of murder by negligence. An inquest and formal hearing was held, where after investigation and the testimony from several highly-esteemed physicians and research biologists, the charges against Dr. Ehrlich were dismissed, and the accuser prosecuted for criminal liable.

...Perhaps I’m obsessed by Dr. Paul Ehrlich. Whatever the case, I think it sad that an individual who saved multiple millions of lives from literal death and living-hell is mostly unknown to the modern masses: Dr. Paul Ehrlich is not on list of the top 500 names of famous scientists of all time as recognized by the average person (U.S. sample).
