It appears to me that the gross margin percentage when the selling price is $2.50 and the cost is $1.00 is

$2.50 / $1.00  =  2.5.

If the cost increases to $1.25, then the selling price should increase to $1.25 x 2.5  =  $3.125 before rounding.

First divide both sides by 1 000 000:

(x) / (1100 + x)  =  0.000 2

Multiply both sides by 1100 + x:

x  =  0.0002(1100 + x)

x  =  0.22 + 0.0002x

Subtract 0.0002x from both sides:

0.9998x  = 0.22

Divide both sides by 0.9998:

x  =  0.22 / 0.9998

This will become your answer. (It's a long decimal.)
