First, find 10% of 5570. Once you find it, find 1 % of 5570. With the 1% of 5570, divide it by 4. Now you have 1/4% of 5570. Now with the amount equal to 1/4% of 5570, multiply that number by 3. This will give you 3/4% of 5570. Now add the amounts of the 10% and 3/4% to get 10 3/4%. That is it.

The translation of your question is "what is a module number"?

What I think you're asking is what does (mod N) mean.

If I have some number X mod N this refers to the remainder resulting from X/N

for example if N=10

12 mod 10 = 2

because 12 = 2*10 + 2

similarly

2343243256243262343243 mod 10 is 3

so if K = X mod N

X = m*N + K where m is a (usually positive) integer

You are supposed to do this using a Singapore Math Bar Model Method.

Let Paul have two equal sized boxes and go from there. you will put Shawn's boxes next to Pauls. How many boxes will that be? Last of all you put Tim's boxes.
Once you have worked out how many boxes you need altogether then you can work out how many postcards is in each box.
Then you can work out how many post cards that Tim and Paul have.

Try to do it yourself. You can post again and tell me how far you got.

Its our township school. But its good school. Its called Singapore Math Bar Model method. From last 2-3 years they change math curriculum in our schools. They adopted Singapore math so we can do well in math & teaching us new techniques.
