As for being a moron, he’s the right age for it, so he gets a free pass.  Leaving behind moronic thought processes, and learning how to think logically and analytically is a gradual process.  

Teaching these critical thinking skills is time consuming, but the investment of time is well worth it, because the juvenile brain will literally grow and develop around these skills. For children with average intelligence, these skills will put them at the head of their class. For children with augmented intelligence, this will eventually put them in the 90^th percentile of testable academic intelligence. 

 Tomm has a bloody long way to go, but these skills will speed up his trip.

Number of 3 digit integers =   999-100 +1 = 900

900/6 = 150 of them are divisible by 6

9 x 10 = 90 of them end in 6

every third one is divisible by 6    so 30         30/90 = 1/3   of the three digit numbers that end in 6 (given) are divisible by 6

It now seems to be cleared up.....

9^2004   =   (10 - 1)^2004

So....the binomial expansion is

10^2004 - C(2004, 1) * 10^2003  + C(2004, 2)*10^2002 -  ..... - C(2004,2002)(10)^2  + C(2004, 2003) (10) -  1 

All of the terms except the last three end in  "000"...so they add nothing to the sum of the last two digits in the expansion

And the last three terms are

-200,700,600 + 20040 - 1  =

 abs   [ -600 + 40 -  1  ]

abs [ -601 + 40  ]    =

abs  [-561 ]  =

561

And the sum of the tens and the units digits in the expansion  =  7

To be divisible by 6, the fist two integers must be divisible by 3......so...we can solve this for n

126 + 30 * (n)  = 999

30 *  (n)  = 873     divide both sides by 30

 (n)  = 29.1

Take the ceiling of 29.1  =  30

So....30  three-digit integers ending in "6"  are divisible by 6

And we have  999 -100 + 1  =  900 three-digit integers

So....the probability is  30  / 900  =   1 / 30

OK, young person, here is my best "guess"!

Since n is 2^100, or power of 2, all ODD numbers under 2^100 are "relatively prime" to it, which means: 2^100 / 2 =2^99   numbers that are relatively prime to 2^100.
