The number of electrons in an atom is equal to the number of protons (Atomic number of an element)

Well for example take calcium, its atomic number is 20 (Electrons=protons)

we have 4 orbits (For begineers)

which are called k l m n

But forget about this for now,

in the first orbit the maximum number of electrons placed is 2

so,

2

in the second orbit it can take up to eight as well as the third and the fourth so it would be:

2 8 8 2

(Ran out of electrons to fill the 4th orbit(N)) When this atom gets in chemical reaction, it will lose 2 electrons and have a +2 above it so it has an outermost level shell (Valency electrons) = 8

From 1 to 9 =None
From 10 to 99 = 9
From 100 to 199 =20
From 200 to 999 =160
From 1000 to 1999 =300
From 2000 to 2001(inclusive) =5
Grand Total = 9 + 20 + 160 + 300 + 5 =494 zeros

P.S. If you don't want 2001 included, then:494 - 2 =492 zeros.

The rows of Pascal's triangle sum to powers of 2, so the elements of the nth row (the row with only one element in it being row 0) sum to 2ⁿ (there's a really cool counting proof for this but you probabally don't need to know that)

so f(n)=log(2ⁿ)

Put this into the fraction:

$\frac{\log{2^{n}}}{\log{2}}$

Pop that n out front from logarithm laws:

$\frac{n\cdot\log{2}}{\log{2}}$

The log(2)s cancel out and you are left with $\frac{f(n)}{\log_{10}2}=\boxed{n}$

Anyways, using a periodic table, the atomic number is the amount of protons and electrons in the atom. Hope this helped!
