The area of a trapezoid is the average of the 2 bases times the height. In other words,

\(A=\frac{17+39}{2}\cdot16=\boxed{448}\)

To solve for it. 

(y+5)/2 = -2. 

The average of the y coordinate and 5 is equal to -2.

Let's think about this one. The mid point is the average of the 2 end poitns. 

X coordinate

The end point is 4 and the middle point is 1. 

The average of the x coordinate and 4 is 1. 

(x+4)/2 = 1

The midpoint of a line segment is located at (1 -2). If one of the endpoints is (4, 5) , what is the other endpoint? Express your answer as an ordered pair.

I was thinking about changing my answer but it is still the same only with a power of 9 instead of 11.

Obviously, the final answer will be different but I don't care so much about my final answers.

It is the method I am showing.

The average of the x coordinates is 1. (1+1)/2

The average of the y coordinates is 7. (4+10)/2

The the coordinates of the midpoitn is (1, 7).
