x^2 + 2 = 6
so x^2 + 2 - 2 = 6 -2
so x^2 = 4
so (x^2)^1/2 = (4)^1/2
therefore x = 2 or -2

cos is adjacent / hypotenus
And, it is cosine not cosinus
Maybe remember
some old hags sin=o/h
cant always hide cos=a/h
their old age tan=o/a

I have translated this but the translation does not make much sense.
What do 'skolko' and 'konvertov' mean?
Я перевел это, но в переводе не имеет особого смысла.

1) expand
2) rearrange the pairs, put the ones with squares first
3) the first 2 factorise as a difference of two squares,
4) the second two factorise so that one of the factors is the same as one of the part 3 factors
5) take out the common factor so that it is now factoised properly.
6)since the answer is 0, one of the factors must be 0
This is enough hints for now, your turn
If this is not enough information ask for more but have a go yourself first.

11/1 divided by 9/16
dividing fractions is multiplying by their reciprocal
so that would be:
11/1 * 16/9
=176/9
or 9 and 5/9

that's a tricky questions!
4/9 are apples
so 5/9 are not apples
1/7 of the the not apple fruit are oranges so
1/7 * 5/9 are oranges
5/63 are oranges
5/63 of the total fruit is 180
5/63 * T = 180
T = 180 * 63 / 5
Total number of fruit is ?? You finish it and then check your answer by seeing if each part of the question is true. I haven't checked. I might have made a mistake.

Do you mean
5y/6 + (y-6)/5 = y + 1/8 ?
If that is what you mean you just multiply both sides by the lowest common denominator which is 6*5*8/2 = 120
You get
100y + 24(y-6) = 120y + 15
now, expand the brackets
collect like terms on the left side
subtract 120y from both sides
etc
finish it and see if montanajace is right!

tbmart2:
5/6y+1/5(y-6)=y+1/8
y = 39.75

no, you are not supposed to, that is what I said.
Were you hoping to get a response from admin, I'm sorry I butted in if you were.
If you want an answer from admin it might be better if you start a new thread and adress it to admin in the title line. imo

Might depend on your calculator
say you want 6*10^12
6 exp 12 =
0r, like 'essexdal' said
6 10
x
12 =
or
6*10^12 but this is the worst way!

W = mg
weight = mass*gravitational field strength
g ~ 10
its closer to 9.8 or summat but if ure studying physics at GCSE or below you'll be told to use 10
W = 80 * 10
= 800N

I have very little knowledge when it comes to physics, but don't you need a location to determine his mass elsewhere? As in, a particular planet, a gravity simulation chamber, so on?

Need some context. What is the math subject you're working on and is that whole question or part of a larger question?

I first write out what we're looking for, then what we know, then try to construct the relationships to decide what we need. For example:
What are we looking for? Remaining money needed
What's the relationship? Remaining money needed = total amount required - money already collected
What do we know? Total cost per person (4500), number of choir members (24)
What do we need? The total Amount Required and the Amount Collected so far
Total Amount Required = cost per person x number of people = 24 x 4500 = 108000
Total Amount Collected = amount of full scholarships given + amount of 1/2 scholarships given = 1/2 choir x 4500 + 1/3 choir x 1/2 (4500) = (12 x 4500) + (8 x 4500/2) = (54000 + 18000) = 72000
So remaining money needed will be (plugging everything in): total amount required - money already collected = 108000 - 72000 = $36000

I am sorry but I believe this is incorrect.
root2 / 2 is regarded as the more simple form.
