EDIT: I've been trying to find an equation similar to that Quadratic formula...But I couldn't find anything.I want a challenge like that even if it doesn't make sense :D

 A challenge is always fun!

I think this is asking for 3 ways of writing z = 4/(1+i√3)

 

1.  Multiply numerator and denominator by 1 - i√3:   4(1 - i√3)/(1+3), so z = 1 - i√3

 

2. |z| = √(1+3) = 2,  tan-1(-√3/1) = -pi/3:  z = 2e-i*pi/3

 

3. eiθ = cos(θ) + i*sin(θ), so z = 2cos(pi/3) - 2i*sin(pi/3)

The radius of the clock is 3  = r

And the angle betwen the hands  = 120°  = (2/3)pi rads

And the arc length formula is given by :

s  = rΘ     where s is the arc length and Θ  is in rads

So we have....

s = 3 (2/3)pi = 2 pi  = 6.28 in
