what does stratified random sampling find in simple terms? Also, is there a difference between stratified random sampling and just random sampling?

**Yes they are different.  

Say in a school.  children are stratified into different years.  In high school where i live (NSW, Australia) the stratas would be yr 7,8,9,10,11 and 12.

If a (year) stratified random sample of 60 children is taken then

10 children would be randomly chosen from year 7

10 from year 8

...

up to 10 from year 12.

To do this, maybe all the year 7 names are placed in a hat and 10 are randomly chosen. etc.

If the 60 children were taken as a random sample then the names of all the children in the whole school would be placed in the hat and 60 would be randomly chosen.

does that make sense?

This is what you have asked - I suspect it is not what you really meant.

$$x^2-\frac{1}{16}\times x\times4\times\frac{x^2}{5}\times x +5\\\\
=x^2-\frac{4x^4}{80} +5\\\\
=x^2-\frac{x^4}{20} +5\\\\$$

If you meant something different, work out where your brackets need to be and make a brand new post.

IF you want to factorise it you have to find 2 numbers multiply to -3 (so one must be neg and one pos)

and add to -2 (the bigger looking one is actually negative)  must be -3 and +1

(x-3)(x+1)

On the other hand if you were asked to simplify it then you can't it already is as simple as it can be!

If you want to change a fraction to a percentage just multiply by 100 and put the % sign.

$$\frac{9}{20}\times 100\%\\\\
=\frac{9}{1}\times 5\%\\\\
=45\%$$

How can I find the height of a scalene triangle given its side angles, 6, 8, and 10?

Chris was right when he said that this is a right angled triangle but it is ALSO A SCALENE TRIANGLE.

So you can use 6 as the base and 8 as the height

or

you can use 8 as the base and 6 as the height.

or

you can use 10 as the base and do all that working that Chris did to get the height.

just do it on a calculator.

A cylinder is just a circular prism.

The volume of any prism is the area of the base multiplied by the height.

Area of a circle is $$\pi r^2$$

therefore volume of a cylinder is $$\pi r^2 h$$

I=6925*0.05/12 = $28.854166666  (Oh, I didn't round to nearest cent, you can do that)

She will have to pay this every month for 4 years 4*12=48months

$28.854166666*48= $1385
